Since July 2024, there have been two Little Chinese Book Clubs hosted in NY. We had a total of 36 people participate in both book clubs and 18 kids sharing their books in Chinese with the group. This was created with a mindset of giving kids opportunities to not only use Chinese to share a book they love but also to use Chinese in a group setting that they may not use often. One parent from the first book club was happy to see her kids use Chinese to present to a group and later use Chinese to interact with other kids. As we’re all on this bilingual journey together, it’s always great to create a support group from which we can learn from each other.
