More books! Love dictionary!?

Since little bun completed the first 50 books, her reading pace has slowed down. Although we still try to read on weekends, I’ve noticed that when I choose picture books with more complex characters, it feels like a chore for her. As a result, she often refuses when I suggest reading more.

Additionally, I’ve realized that we’ve exhausted our supply of picture books at home. Despite thinking I had a decent library, now that little bun can read independently, it seems insufficient.

Recently, I’ve been acquiring more books from second-hand book Facebook pages in the hopes of finding titles that pique her interest before I have the chance to get more during my trip to Asia.

On the flip side, the Taiwan first-grade online class has been incredibly beneficial. I particularly appreciate how she’s learning radicals, mastering dictionary use, and grasping sentence structure.

Currently, she’s learning to recognize similar characters and discern which one is correct. I believe this skill will be invaluable for her when typing and selecting the right characters in the future.

Surprisingly, she’s become quite enthusiastic about looking up characters in the dictionary. She finds it enjoyable and discovers many fascinating tidbits in her little dictionary. In this digital age, it’s somewhat unexpected, but I’m delighted that we’ve introduced her to something that sparks her interest.
